Paid Vacation Leave: New full-time employees accrue 12 days per year of Vacation Leave. Accrual rates increase with service time.
Paid Sick Leave: New full-time employees accrue 13.50 days per year of Sick Leave.
Paid Holidays: 10 holidays are approved each year by the Seminole County Property Appraiser. This includes an employee birthday holiday.
Bereavement Leave: Employees may receive up to one week paid leave for absence due to the death of an immediate family member.
Florida Retirement System: All employees in regularly established positions are automatically covered from the first day of employment.
Deferred Compensation Plan (457): Employees may choose to have pre-tax payroll deductions made for deposit into this savings plan up to an IRS established maximum.
Tuition Assistance Program: Employees completing approved courses of instruction may receive full or partial reimbursement for tuition and required textbooks.
Employee Assistance Program: Our EAP provider can help employees and their families with issues such as personal/family matters, financial debt counseling, substance abuse, etc.
Training and Development Programs: The Employee Learning Center provides training opportunities for employees, which promotes performance, enhances employees' work life experiences and supports the organization's plan.
Employees' Awards and Recognition: A comprehensive program of both formal and informal recognition and incentives to reward outstanding performance and enhance service to the citizens of Seminole County.
Credit Union: Employees are eligible to join the Fairwinds Credit Union and/or Insight Credit Union.
Life Insurance: Life and Accidental Death-Dismemberment Insurance for employee equal to one times annual salary.
Health Insurance: We have a Preferred Provider Option (PPO) plan with limited out of network benefits. Dependent coverage is also available at employee's expense.
Long-Tern Disability Insurance: A core benefit equal to 60% of employee's salary is provided.
OPTIONAL INSURANCE FEATURES
Dental Insurance: A choice of prepaid or indemnity plans available for employees and dependents at employee's expense.
Additional Life Insurance: At employee's expense, additional life insurance up to five times annual salary; dependent coverage also available.
Short-Term Disability Insurance: At employee's expense.
Cancer/Specified Dread Disease Insurance: At employee's expense.
Flexible Spending Account: A pre-tax account for childcare and un-reimbursed medical expenses.
Pre-tax Payroll Deductions: Under Section 125 of the IRS Code, certain payroll deductions for insurance coverage may be taken out prior to income being taxed.
